Rule of Law Values. Juridical education in high schools

Monday, 9th March 2015, at National College Gh. Sincai, we launched together with
Clubul Liderii Mileniului Trei a nd R ule of Law Program South East Europe,
KonradAdenauerStiftung
the programme for juridical education in high schools based on
values.
On 10th March we kept the first workshop at National College Gh. Lazar from
Bucharest, with the theme „Independence and Rule of Law”, centered on the
independence of justice. Over 100 pupils participated from National College Sf. Sava
and National College Lazar, whith whom we debated aspects relting to
independence of justice, touching also subjects like the journalists’ margin of
apprecion and politicians’ and criminal law lawyer’s freedom of speach during the
process. We were surprised to meet teenagers with a real interest for the society
they are living in and for the way justice is functioning.
„Rule of Law Fundamental Values”, curricular project for juridical education in
Romanian preuniversitary teaching, contains in workshops developed in 8 high
schools from Bucharest, Braşov, Constanţa, Craiova și Zalău, by which it is brought
to attention the necessity of a general juridical and civical culture for young citizens.
The High schools reffered to by our pilot project were:

● National College “Mihai Viteazul” Bucharest
● National College “Gh. Șincai” Bucharest
● National College “Gh. Lazăr” Bucharest
● National College “Dr. Ioan Meşotă” Braşov
● Colegiul Național “Mircea cel Bătrân” Constanţa
● National College “Fraţii Buzeşti” Craiova
● National College “Silvania” Zalău

The next workshops will take place on 6th April, at National College Mihai Viteazu
from Bucharest and on 7th April at National College Fratii Buzesti from Craiova.
